It’s been over a decade since a Silent Hill movie was playing in theaters, but that drought will end next year. Cineverse–the distributer behind last year’s horror hit Terrifier 3–has placed the upcoming sequel, Return To Silent Hill, on its release calendar for 2026.
According to Deadline, Return To Silent Hill is set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026, just a few months shy of the 20th anniversary of the original Silent Hill film by director Christophe Gans. That movie was followed by a sequel, Silent Hill: Revelation, in 2012, which loosely adapted Silent Hill 3.
Gans did not return to helm the second film, but he is making a comeback to the franchise for Return To Silent Hill. This time, the story will take its cue from Silent Hill 2, the acclaimed 2001 survival-horror title that was successfully remade last year. Jeremy Irvine will star as James Sunderland, with Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary, and Evie Templeton as Laura.
